The Village Resource Centre in partnership with Agriculture Wellness Ontario is hosting a Guardian Network training for community members and agricultural professionals! The Guardian Network is a community of passionate mental health advocates that supports Ontario’s farming community. The Guardian Network includes a one-day suicide prevention training and ongoing peer connection and continuous learning for trained Guardians. The role of a Guardian is to reduce mental health stigma in agricultural communities by fostering mental health conversations with farmers who may be in distress and connect individuals with appropriate mental health and crisis resources.
We invite you to join us in creating a supportive agricultural community here at home and register for the upcoming Guardian Network training on September 15th at The Village Resource Centre, 108 Talbot Rd E, Wheatley ON. The training is in-person and will run from 9 am to 4 pm, lunch will be provided. This training is open to anyone over the age of 18 who have direct relationships with the farming community.
